Experience the hike of a lifetime to the lost citadel of the Incas! The world-famous Classic Inca Trail 4 Days / 3 Nights is widely considered one of the best hiking routes in South America and across the globe.
On this journey, you will walk in the footsteps of ancient Incan royalty along original stone-paved paths, surrounded by lush cloud forests and the towering peaks of the Andes Mountains. The Inca Trail is the ultimate route chosen by adventurous travelers to crown their arrival at Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Along the way, you will explore unique archaeological sites accessible only on foot. While the trail presents physical challenges—such as climbing high-altitude mountain passes—you will receive the most breathtaking reward: entering through the Sun Gate (Intipunku) at sunrise to behold the mystical Machu Picchu for the very first time.

Important Information
Frequently Asked Questions
- 1. How far in advance do I need to book the 4-Day Inca Trail?
- Because the Peruvian government strictly limits permits to 500 per day (including guides and porters) to preserve the path, spaces sell out quickly. We highly recommend booking 5 to 6 months in advance, especially if you plan to visit during the dry season (May to September).
- 2. Which Machu Picchu circuit is included in this trek?
- Your package includes Circuit 1 by default. This circuit allows you to walk up to the upper terraces to capture the iconic, panoramic postcard photo of the citadel. If you wish to explore the lower sectors of the ruins in greater depth, let us know early so we can help you purchase an additional Circuit 2 or Circuit 3 ticket (subject to availability).
- 3. How difficult is Dead Woman’s Pass?
- At 4,215 meters (13,829 feet) above sea level, it is the highest and most demanding section of the trail on Day 2. The ascent consists of steep Incan stone stairs and requires good physical conditioning due to the thin air. We strongly recommend spending at least 2 full days in Cusco to acclimate before starting the trek.
